
Jason Klein is Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Red Iron Group.
A Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, native, Jason spent time in Philadelphia and New York City before settling in the San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley nearly twenty-five years ago. Today, he resides in the heart of Silicon Valley with his wife and three children.
Jason began his career in finance and accounting almost thirty years ago and has been a professional investor for almost twenty years. Over this time, Jason has been on the board of more than twenty-five companies spanning diverse end markets. These companies involved over $1.5 billion of invested capital and have generated nearly $10 billion in realized exits and public market capitalizations. Many started as small or medium-sized businesses and grew into substantial enterprises.
Jason’s deep roots in technology drive his belief that technology can be a transformative force, creating value for companies across the economy and at all scales. He advocates for leveraging technology to enhance customer experiences and streamline service delivery – a guiding principle for Red Iron Group’s founding.
Earlier in his career, Jason worked at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in investment banking serving in both the Technology, Media & Telecom group and the Merger Department. Prior to Goldman Sachs, he advised mid-market companies on mergers, acquisitions, capital raising, and buyouts as part of PricewaterhouseCoopers Securities, the investment banking subsidiary of PricewaterhouseCoopers. Prior to investment banking, Jason worked in the Financial Advisory Services practice at Coopers & Lybrand. He has also spent time auditing companies at both Coopers & Lybrand and Arthur Andersen.
Jason’s current board seats with Red Iron Group include: 100% Chiropractic, Charter Impact, Everline Coatings and Services, Graphite Financial Group, and Hiline Services.
Jason received his M.B.A. from the Wharton School, at the University of Pennsylvania, in Finance and Strategic Management graduating as a Palmer Scholar and receiving the Ford Fellowship (first-year Co-Valedictorian). He also earned a B.S. with Highest Distinction in Finance and Accounting, with a minor in Speech Communications, from the Pennsylvania State University.
Jason is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA, inactive) and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
